This is not a review nor is it a comparison but simply my thoughts on where the mobile handset war is heading between Apple, Palm and Google.

Let’s make a start with Apple Inc for this with there Mobile MacOS X or the iPhone/iPod Touch OS… Whichever you want to refer to it by. So 2 years ago Apple released there first generation iPhone with the new unique OS.

Memorial CardToday was the day that my good friend was finally laid to rest. The service, held at Whitkirk Church – Leeds, was a very emotional but incredible turn out. Today, as with any funeral service, was about showing respect for the lost and his family. The entrance to the church was to the sound of The Fray’s – How To Save A Life. An incredibly emotional song but with incredible meaning.  The service itself started with a few simple prayers and blessings and then a few moment were taken to talk about my friend himself:

Value of Life, Love and Friendship

WeddingEach and everyday we all take our lives for granted. We wake up, go through our daily routines be it taking the kids to school, cleaning the house, working, etc. but we do this because it is who we are, it is the norm, and that is how we live our lives.

Today (Monday 26th January 2009) I lost a dear friend, and although I look and know I have lost that, I also look at the fact that a father, husband, uncle, brother, etc. was lost. I look at this man in his early 30’s and think of something he said to me only a month or so ago… …He said “Luigi, you need to take advantage of the life you have and live each and every day as if it was your last.”… He knew then that he was terminal with cancer but he could not turn around and say he had not accomplished anything in life, just that he had taken his life and health for granted. He has a wonderful wife of whom he has known for many years and finally married on the 10th January 2009 and three wonderful children and it is unfortunate that his illness will leave them without such a good man in there lives.  They will however have each other, there family and friends and most of all, there memories.

I have been looking for an easy way to build and manipulate an iPhone front end for my website. The idea was to have the front end lead you to the area you are looking for with the use of an easy menu driven system. I searched around the internet and tried the first framework I found over at Google Code.

No doubt we have all heard the hype of the tests carried out to try and create and understand more information about how the universe was created. This ‘Big Bang‘ test to be held up to 600ft under the swiss-french border will be a huge leap in scientific research…. or will it?

I read various news articles via Digg on a daily basis and some are interesting where as others are… well not interesting at all.  I tend not to read large articles unless they pose some interest, which is what this latest article on Death: How Does It Feel To Die?.  The article explains various ways to exit this world and describes a bit about how it would feel.

Being quite an avid follower of everything Apple related, I always watch the major Keynote Presentations.  These presentation offer first hand information on the up and coming things from Apple.  The latest presentation in San Francisco was the WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference). As always there are always going to be new features or hardware being demonstrated or unveiled.  After the keynote in March some of the obvious features such as iPhone enterprise support and the new up and coming App store for native applications was going to be on the cards.

BPM (Beats Per Minute) for iTunes & OSX

I have searched all over the net looking for a piece of software that would detect and write the BPM to my iTunes library.  There are loads on the net but most require that you Tap the beat.  This means you have to sit and tap the mouse button to every single beat.  Yes that would be time consuming and to be honest for my 10,000+ tracks it would be a stupid amount of time required and probably would need treatment for damaged fingers… haha.
